Kitchen Floor Tiles

One of the most common areas everyone wants to tile is a Kitchen. Carpet, Laminate, Wood, Vinyl, and Linoleum all seem to go out the door and everyone wants to have ceramic or porcelain tile floors. It is easy to see why with laminate and wood when the warranties that you get with them are sometimes voided when you put them in the kitchen to begin with. Carpet is a bear to try and keep clean when you cook with grease and oil. Vinyl, and linoleum are easy to keep up but they wear faster than a ceramic or porcelain tile.

Now if you are doing your whole house keep the tile the same in the kitchen as you are everywhere else. If you want to accent your kitchen from the rest of your home look at your backsplash or add in a decorative piece or two. Try not to switch tile sizes or tiles in your kitchen because you think the area is too small or because a different tile looks better in one room. Let your house flow from one room to the next if you are doing it all at once.

When you are looking at tile for your kitchen if you are doing it separately from the whole house I would suggest trying to pick the going with a slightly darker grout color after you have picked out your tile. Mostly because you are constantly going to the kitchen and a slightly darker grout color will make it easier to maintain than a lighter color.
