Accenting Your Tile Floors

The biggest space besides your walls in your home is the floor. And a sea of floor tile on your floor can be overwhelming for anyone to consider. Such a large area with only one color or design can be boring and uninteresting. But it does not have to be this way. Putting in Decorative Pieces, using liners, and listellos are a great and effective way of adding depth and interest into your floor at a very minimal cost. Allowing you to accent and draw attention to areas of your house such as going down your hall, or highlighting your new dining room table.

With a liner or a listello you can give the appearance to a throw rug on your floor that is simple and elegant. And if you change the way the tile is set you can do away with trying to keep the grout lines matching up on both sides of the liner or listello.

Putting in a Decorative Piece occasionally when you are doing your floor can sound like a tall order if you are worried about cutting the corners and putting the decorative piece and getting them all squared up. But luckily we make them so we have the capability of making them the same size of the tile. So no cutting is required at all. Just leave the space open and put the decorative piece in place of the tile.

Tile Patterns with Decorative Pieces

One of the Best things when we are doing tile patterns is how easy it is to use Decorative Pieces with them. Making a Decorative Piece the size of the tile. No cutting or waste is involved when we make our decorative pieces that way when you are laying your tile and they are very easy to install.

The other nice thing is if you are putting a medallion in your home it is very easy for us over at Designer Tile Plus to incorporate the Medallion Design into your Decorative Pieces. Giving your home a nice easy way of keeping everything uniform instead of trying to mix and match designs and looks with your tile.

To help our Customers we usually try and tell them for their homes to never put the Decorative Pieces no closer than one in sixteen tiles. That way it gives you a better chance of not covering them with furniture when your project is completed. In some homes it may even be better to go one in twenty or more depending on how much furniture you do have.

With just a few of these designs inserted into your floor your home will no longer be the same as other homes it will be as unique as you are.  Because at Designer Tile Plus you can choose the colors, design, and size of all our Medallions and Decorative Pieces, making them truly one of a kind.

Coverings with Stone and Tile

One of the most common things we do at Designer Tile Plus is mix stone with tile. One of the main reasons we usually do that for is to create a focal point and to create a more richer and elegant look. When you look at your home and your neighbors homes, what do you see? You can see travertine, limestone, tile, wood, laminate, parquet, marble, and granite.¬† But do you see anyone mixing the two together in the floor? Probably not. I can see why you wouldn’t with woods, laminates, and parquet, but why not mix stone with porcelain and ceramic tile…

If your regular ceramic and porcelain tile are roughly the same thickness why not mix the two together? Just adding accents or inserts of stone into a ceramic and porcelain tile can add a little bit more depth and movement into a plain floor. It can also help tie everything together and give your home a more designer look. A nice tile pattern can do the same thing rather than the traditional straight lay or diagonal floor you see so much of. And even if you are, or if you want we can, just cutting down a stone to a like a 4×4 and inserting it every 20 or so tiles the look of your home can be truly unique.

If you are going with stone instead of tile instead of cutting up tile to insert into your stone floor a contrasting stone would look just perfect.

Flooring with Trim

When we are looking at floor tiles we are not usuallly thinking of what trim pieces may come with it. One of the Best things for having the Florida Tile line is that Florida Tile is based in the United States, but also that Florida Tile makes trim pieces with their tile. So when you have stairs that you would like to do with your floor, or if you would like to take your floor tile and put it on the wall, Florida Tile has the coordinating and matching trim pieces. Even on their wood looks. A handy thing to know when you are searching for your home.

It is one of the unfortunate of things when you are out searching for tile in Las Vegas that most of the tiles you see and find do not have matching trim pieces available. Trim pieces do not sound super important

until you have a step down or a couple stairs to do and having sharp edges is not something you want at all.

So wouldn’t it be nice to have matching trim pieces to go with your flooring instead of searching and trying to come close or matching the tone of the tile but not the look. You may not need trim pieces for everywhere in your floor but is it not a nice thing to not have to worry about that when you are choosing your flooring.

And don’t worry if you run short on your trim pieces, everything we bring in from Florida Tile we bring in the surface bullnose for, and if we run short we are only a week away from having more available for you.
