Should You Go With Tile?

When looking at remodeling or buying a home we all wonder what should be installed in the floor. Sometimes what comes standard in a home is not what you want. Or with remodeling you are tired with what is down, or it is in need to be replaced. With carpet, laminate, vinyl, wood, parquet floors, porcelain tiles, ceramic tiles, marble, travertine, limestone, slate, and granite. The combinations and choices are endless. And we haven’t even looked at decorative pieces, medallions, or accents, or paint, or even new furniture.

For myself living in a desert that has windy days I prefer to go with tile. Tile is much easier to clean when dealing with all the dust being blown around. Another benefit is my pets cannot pee  and leave that awful smell as they do with carpet. The finishes on woods, laminates, and parquet floors always seem to get scratched from my pets nails, and little kids dragging their feet. While I have seen nice vinyls around all of them seem to be priced right around what I can buy ceramic or porcelain tiles for. Installation costs seem to run the same, so since tile can last longer than vinyl with so much wear and tear I end up with tile floors.

With tile I can choose different looks, colors and sizes. I can have a low maintenance floor that is easy to maintain and keep clean. I don’t have to worry about people spilling and staining anything. I can keep my floor and never have to worry about replacing it because of wear and tear. I can have a classy, elegant looking floor that is timeless, and beautiful.

Wood Looks

Wood Looks have been one of the more interesting things that everyone seems to be bringing in and installing now a days. Out of the many that we show and Stock at Designer Tile Plus. The Legno series seems to be one of the best not only in looks but also in installation. Legno is one of the unique wood looks in tile that actually comes in two different sizes. Using the two sizes together takes this wood look one step beyond the rest. Those contractors who come in and  install tile and wood have all remarked on the realistic look of this series when it is installed.

This is partly do to the use of HD technology that some of the tile factories have switched to. This change has allowed the variation from one tile to the next to increase dramatically. Instead of having a print on the tile appear every thirty or forty tiles. The pattern repeats itself once every 180 feet or more. With a distance over half a football field away one can see how someone could mistake this man made product with natural wood. Couple that with the variation in size if you choose to use the two sizes together and you have a floor tile that looks like a real wood floor
